PEER LEadership
Previous participants serve in a leadership role while continuing to gain valuable job-readiness skills, work experience, and assist in boosting community engagement with STL Youth Jobs.
The ambassadors are a spin-off of our Young Money Managers. The inaugural STL Youth Jobs Ambassadors team launched in 2022 with five dynamic leaders.
Applications
Positions are filled for 2022. Check back later for 2023 applications.
Returning participants, ages 16-24, who are interested in building on their leaderships skills and becoming an ambassador must complete both the application by selecting “Apply for a Job” AND completing an interest form.
The Role
peer-to-peer training
STL Youth Jobs Youth Alumni Ambassadors is a program designed with young people in mind. As part of STL Youth Jobs core programming, all participants are trained on the importance of financial literacy. Ambassadors assist with this training and are equipped with the tools necessary to teach and empower their peers to make smart financial decisions.
Teamwork
As part of a team of five individuals, ambassadors meet regularly under the guidance of a Job Coach. They work together to lead professional development sessions, participate in program and training development, and assist with marketing STL Youth Jobs.
Public Speaking
Ambassadors share their knowledge and experiences of being in STL Youth Jobs with community members, other alumni, and current youth participants. They are serving as leaders and role models in STL Youth Jobs.
Work Experience
In addition to their roles above, each ambassador is paired with a local employer for paid work experience. This is part of our Summer Work Experience pathway.
