Professional Volunteers
Volunteer your area of expertise for youth professional development sessions
Summer 2022 Series: June 13 - August 14
As part of our program model, we provide optional professional development sessions to youth participants. If you have an topic or industry you would like to speak on, we would love to have you as a guest speaker. We invite every youth participant to attend these events where they can learn more about a specific industry, career choices/experiences, and pathways of entrance for those jobs or hear from a motivational speaker and build life skills. This summer we will have both in-person (host at your organization) and virtual (Zoom) options. The sessions are one hour with time for presentation, interactive games/activities, and Q&A at the end. Each session typically has between 20-40 youth participants attend (ages 14-24). Topics/industries could include but are not limited to:
Agriculture and forestry
Animal care
Arts, entertainment and recreation
Beauty and Cosmetics
Building healthy life habits
Construction and manufacturing
Education and health services
Entrepreneurship and owning a business
Financial literacy and credit building (home buying, insurance, student loans, retirement planning)
Human and social services
Human resources and people solutions
Marketing
Public health
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
